Have I ever shown anyone respect?

I got into an Argument recently with someone who I thought was my friend and he hit me with something that was very controversial. He said I never gave respect, I retorted that I do but find it hard to do so when I get none in return, he told me to name one time I did, and I hit a brick wall because I couldn't remember any moment I did. Now I am beginning to wonder if I ever did at all. Did I ever show anyone respect? I need to know, I am scared.
